Who We ARE

Tatanga Energy is a developer of Independent Power Projects (IPPs) and is focused on delivering
rapidly deployable and affordable sources of clean energy across Africa. Tatanga Energy seeks to
establish operations in select geographies with sound regulatory environments, renewable energy
frameworks and overall positive power sector trends.
The principals of Tatanga Energy have extensive IPP development experience and have built a strong
operational team which leverages complementary skill sets and the invaluable relationships that
they have formed over time with local and international advisers, investors, lenders, and EPC
contractors.

Our Projects

Tatanga Energy is currently developing 3 renewable energy projects in Zimbabwe ( 2 solar photovoltaic ‘p.v’ projects and a wind project) as well as a solar p.v. project in Zambia. Tatanga Energy’s first project is a 400 MW solar p.v. park that is being developed in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe at a site adjacent to Sable Chemicals. The first 50 MW phase of the project is licensed and is expected to supply much needed electricity to the national grid by 2026.

Tatanga Energy’s second project is the 100MW Guruve-Mazowe Wind Power Project being solely developed by Tatanga Energy. The project is being developed in the Mashonaland Central Province on the border of Guruve and Mazowe rural districts.

Tatanga Energy’s third solar project is TEGES 5 MW solar p.v. plant that is being developed in partnership with the Anglican Diocese of Central Zimbabwe. The first phase of the project, a 157kWp + 300 kWh BESS solar mini grid, has been commissioned and is currently providing the ‘own
consumption’ energy needs of St Patrick’s Mission, a large Anglican Church run educational and health facility located in Gweru, Zimbabwe.

The final under Tatanga Energy’s pipeline is the 30MW Northern Power project jointly being developed with AMDG Energy with potential to scale up to 170MW. The project is being developed in Kitwe, Zambia’s Copperbelt Province.
